Dr. Ryan Vazales, DPM, DABFAS, ABFAS, FACFAS, is a double board-certified foot and reconstructive, rear foot, and ankle surgeon at Advanced Foot & Ankle of Virginia in Glen Allen, Virginia. Dr. Vazales earned his medical degree in podiatric medicine and surgery from Barry University College of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, Florida. He then completed a 3-year intensive surgical residency at Florida Hospital East Orlando in Orlando, Florida. He served as Chief Resident there and received extensive training in congenital conditions, flatfoot deformity, pediatric clubfoot, arthroscopic surgery, and limb deformity correction, among other topics. After residency, Dr. Vazales completed a fellowship at Chicago Foot and Ankle Deformity Correction Center in Chicago, Illinois, which focused heavily on orthoplastic surgery.
Throughout his career, Dr. Vazales has earned awards for his research and clinical foot and ankle care. He has published many articles and stays current on the latest developments in his field through professional memberships in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Microsurgical Orthoplastic Society, the Virginia Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Podiatric Medical Association.
